My Honest Oh, Polly Review
Background
Oh, Polly was started in 2015 in Glasgow by a gal named Claire Henderson. Oh, Polly began to when Henderson was traveling after university. Seeing different parts of the world and wanting to make a change, she and a partner started by selling dresses to raise funds for The Brannerson Foundation via eBay. The duo succeeded, set up a school, and hired a teacher in Cambodia. Realizing their success within eBay, They loaded up an Instagram profile, set up a site, and then Oh, Polly was born. The mission is still clearly stated on the site: “Every purchase made at Oh Polly helps to support several children in one of the poorest regions in the world.” And their mission statement reads, “We exist to provide trend-driven high-quality products from ethical supply chains that will turn heads and get you noticed.” All pieces are made by a small team, in-house. I believe a strong background like this helps when considering affordable options for online shopping - what is better than shopping for great pieces for a great cause?
What I Like About It
Oh, Polly caught my eye by a referral from a friend when she was wearing the prettiest bikini. That night I was ordering a handful. A note she did add is, "Order now; it's going to take a minute to get to you." so I followed her advice, and about a week later, I had my bikinis. I was obsessed with their fabric, palettes, and cuts. Although, be mindful in checkout that you have all the pieces to your sets - I learned the hard way. Oh, Polly runs with Meshki and House of CB, although Polly's price points are a tad better. Deliveries run 5-8 business days after processing and range from $8.00 - $18.00 for shipping, with free shipping for orders over $130.00.
They accept all major credit cards, apple pay, google pay, amazon pay, meta pay - and Klarna, and Afterpay. Having many options at checkout simplifies everything, making it quick and easy. Student discounts offer at 15% with Student Beans. Returns require registration via the website- Honestly, it is not the most seamless, time-consuming, and sometimes costs the same to send back. The website states: "You have 60 days to return your order if you're an international customer returning outside of the UK. Returns costs are paid when registering your return unless you're using self-post" For me, Oh, Polly stays within the loop for my swim and resort occasions. Worth a poke around from time to time.
